Wat Chedi Luang Varaviharn, Chiang Mai

Wat Chedi Luang Varaviharn liegt im Zentrum von Chiang Mai und ist ein buddhistische Tempelanlage.

 

Der Bau von Wat Chedi Luang Varaviharn wurde im 14 Jahrhundert begonnen und erst Mitte des 15 Jahrhundert fertig gestellt. Durch ein Erdebeben im Jahre 1545 brachen 30 Meter des seinerzeit rund 80 Meter hohen Bauwerk zusammen.

 

Sehenswert ist das imposante Bauwerk auf jedenfall, der Eintritt ist frei und durch die Lage im Zentrum der Altstadt sehr leicht zu erreichen.
